Applications for our CCC centers are accepted through the Harvard Office of Work/Life where each family is assigned a tier for enrollment priority based on affiliation status.

You may apply to one or more Campus Child Care centers using the online application system.

You can apply directly at: https://huccc-web.cadm.harvard.edu.

Please note that this online application has been designed as a convenience for families. Data entered into this application sits on a secure Harvard server, but each child care center makes independent enrollment decisions.

Campus Child Care is happy to provide you additional information as needed. If you have reviewed the FAQ and have questions about CCC please contact the executive director by email. If you have any questions about individual sites please contact that center director by email or phone. Please do not arrive at a center to visit without first setting an appointment

Campus Child Care, Inc. is sensitive to the high cost of child care in the Boston area.  Costs are highly correlated with the personnel costs that are required to meet the intense staff:child ratios in child care settings and provide staff with livable, respectful wages and benefits.

Harvard offers child care scholarships, based on need, to eligible faculty, staff and postdocs that help defray the cost of child care. Scholarship awards vary from family to family and year to year, and payments are made on a reimbursement basis. Applications are accepted once per year and current recipients need to reapply each year. For more information, click here.

Three of our programs provide care to low income Cambridge residents through a City sponsored grant

As part of Harvard’s cooperation agreement with the City of Boston, a limited number of spots in this new center will be initially reserved for residents of Allston zip codes 02134 and 02135. In addition, families who reside in these zip codes ― and who are not eligible for any other Harvard scholarship ― may apply for a means-tested child care subsidy. For more information, please email the Harvard Office of Work/Life.

Launching in the Fall of 2025, the Cambridge Preschool Program provides an exciting opportunity to families living in Cambridge with 4 year old children. Campus Child Care is an affiliate partner program with CPP, allowing Cambridge residents to enroll in our programs with financial support from the City equaling approximately 50% of the cost of care. We will still follow our enrollment priority system, offering first to Harvard families and then to community families. Look to the CPP website for more details. Reach out to CCC if you believe you have an age eligible 4 year old or an income eligible 3 year old.

CCC centers employ highly qualified staff.  About three-quarters of our staff have either a BA (56%) or MA (18%) and an additional 13% have an AA degree. We are fortunate to have relatively high retention rate which we attribute to the quality and culture of the CCC centers; competitive salaries; generous benefits and paid time-off policies; and significant opportunities for professional development.

All teachers and administrators have EEC certification that meets or exceeds state requirements.

Center Directors are the administrators of each center, supported by additional administrators and program coordinators.

CCC is governed by a Board of Directors composed of currently-enrolled parent representatives of each of the CCC centers and subject matter experts. The Board of Directors meets quarterly.  There is regular, transparent two-way communications between the Board of Directors and each of the Center Councils.

The CCC executive office is staffed by professionals in administration, human resources, quality assurance, and finance to support each of the centers’ operations.

The CCC office is centrally located in Harvard Square at 8 Story Street Suite B70. Members of the CCC team often are in the field in direct relationship with our employees and families rather than in their offices; the philosophy of the executive office is that the most important work happens closest to the children and families.

WHO WE ARE

Campus Child Care, Inc. (CCC) is a private, non-profit organization, founded in July 2017, to merge the six previously independent centers serving the Harvard community on the Cambridge and Allston campuses. CCC was formed to provide the overall administrative services and support to centers so that the leadership of the centers can maintain their focus on the quality of experience for children, families, and staff. CCC has streamlined administrative functions, strengthened collaboration across centers, and improved long-term strategic planning. CCC has an operating agreement with Harvard for the services it provides and in some centers, holds contracts with the local community to provide subsidised care for several of its residents.

In 2023 CCC opened a new program at the childcare space at 114 Western Avenue in Allston.

WHAT WE DO

CCC provides high quality early childhood education and care for children ages 2 months to 5 years whose families are affiliated with Harvard University and its host communities. Child care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers is available year-round on a full-time or part-time basis. Each of the centers is conveniently located at the Harvard campuses in Cambridge and Allston. Families are actively engaged in the centers to not only assure the best care for their children but also to build robust communities of caregivers who create strong connections around the center’s programming and social activities. We find that these child and family relationships often last decades – and sometimes even among the second generation of families who are now enrolled.

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING

“BGCC provides an incredibly warm and supportive environment for our children to grow and explore. The teachers are extremely creative in providing a wide variety of activities for the children every day. I also appreciate their emphasis on fostering a sense of community among the children and helping the children learn to solve problems.”

“I can leave my children at PTCC with the sure knowledge that they are being treated as individuals, learning and growing in new ways and having fun with the other children. I am so grateful for the Center and its loving care of my children.”

“From the very beginning, our son has been excited to spend his days at SFPCC. The development of his communication and social skills has accelerated during his time there. The teachers tirelessly work with the children to create a nurturing environment and to enable them to negotiate through the toddler years.”

“Faced with the choice of sending our son to a public pre-kindergarten program – for free – or staying on another year at PTCC, the choice was clear. We stayed at PTCC and loved every day of our seven years there (two of our children attended). The teachers are warm, committed, insightful, creative, and very loving. We feel blessed to have had PTCC in our lives and miss it dearly since we have moved on.”
