COVID-19 INFO + OPEN HOUSES
Harvard University is closely monitoring the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our community, on and off campus. We will continue to update the community regularly to keep you informed of additional measures.
How does CCC enrollment happen?
For your information, we have put together a typical timeline for our Campus Child Care enrollment process and addressed some frequently asked questions.
Currently enrolled children and siblings of currently enrolled children are offered priority for open spaces. In an typical year, each center holds an open house in the spring so that families have an opportunity to tour our centers and meet administrative teams and teaching staff. These open houses are typically held in early or mid-March on a Saturday. Due to COVID-19 restrictions that are still in place, centers will provide virtual open houses or informative videos for families. Check with each center for exact dates.
We often receive questions about when parents will know if we can offer a spot. Starting April 1, we begin offering open spaces. If we can offer you a space, you will receive a call or an email about the offer and the pertinent details from a staff member. Although we would love to provide a firm schedule for the whole enrollment cycle, there are many factors that go into the timing of offering spots.
Starting the week of April 1, spots are offered to ACCESS-eligible faculty. As soon as these spots are allocated, we proceed to the rest of tier 1, and then to tiers 2 and 3. Within each tier, applications are prioritized by application date. Because each family needs time to accept or decline an offer and then return a contract, this process generally moves in waves. Timing of an offer also may depend on the age of the child and the number of spaces open in a particular group. As a general rule, we expect the enrollment process to take about two months, but it can go well into the summer.
While it appears that 2022-23 may be a very tight enrollment year for CCC with many returning families and sibling enrollments, we will do our best to accommodate as many new enrollments as possible. There is no typical date when we are “done” with enrollment. Historically we have some openings pop up right through Labor Day. Because of these conditions and because of the volume of applications we receive, we do not send out a letter to current applicants when a particular classroom is full.
If you have not heard from CCC by June it may mean that the classroom you are interested in is full or that we are still working our way through the waiting list. If you want to know more about your chances for enrollment in a specific center, please feel free to call that program directly or you can email CCC at email@example.com.
